The Great Flood

The young daughter of an impoverished German prince, Sophia Augusta Frederica of Anhalt-Zerbst, marries the Russian Emperor Peter III and becomes Empress Catherine II. At first, full of hopes for pure and bright love, the girl quickly becomes disillusioned with the royal spouse as a person and as a ruler, and while he, having organized an incessant party in the palace, is having fun with banquets, hunting, fornication and humiliation of his subjects, the young empress begins to make plans on how she herself can organize Russia.
