Kuptsov is an ordinary soldier and he still has a whole year left until the end of his service. He is very different from his colleagues and has qualities that are completely unnecessary in the army - kind, sympathetic, and he also has golden hands, which those around him take full advantage of. It costs Kuptsov nothing to build a real costume or gracefully shorten a “parade”; moreover, he even knows how to make a doll that comes to life in his hands. Kuptsov secretly falls in love with Anna (captain of the secret service), and since many people are in love with her, he does not hope for reciprocity. But love, if it is real, always comes at the wrong time... Suddenly Anna notices signs of attention from Kuptsov and realizes that she herself is in love, despite the large age difference. At the same time, her longtime boyfriend Zakharov is going to be transferred to Moscow, and the rude captain Prokhorenkov aims to take his place (in Anna’s fate)... How will this love story end?
