In a small Cossack village in the Kuban, happy Angelica is preparing for her wedding. Throughout the district, she is known as the first beauty, she understands this well and is sure that only happiness awaits her. In short, her life is a fairy tale that does not give everyone else peace, only one can hear behind her back - "we should take the place of Angelica!" No one knew how quickly and horribly this story would end. A week before the wedding, a group of visiting musicians trick a girl into a car, rape her and disappear from the village. The disgraced Angelica suddenly loses her beloved groom, girlfriends and becomes the object of ridicule of fellow villagers. To top it all off, the girl soon realizes she is pregnant. After much hesitation, she still gives birth to a child and goes to Moscow to find her abusers and take revenge. In Moscow, the heroine is waiting for new trials: she will learn how it is to be a toy in someone else’s criminal game and feel how much people can hate, envious of beauty. She, despite all the pain, will again be able to believe and love, and again the answer will be cold calculation and betrayal. Will the heroine still be able to get out of this vicious circle, not get tough and remain the same Angelica?
