1944 Nazi-occupied Bohemia. A young boy, Milos Hrma, starts working at a small railway station. The newcomer tries to be like the dispatcher Gubichka in everything, for whom everything is in order at work and on the heart front: it is a rare lady who does not fall into the arms of Gubichka.
