1987 Eighteen-year-old Sanya, a pupil of an orphanage from a small provincial town, comes to Moscow. In the capital, a girl makes a career. At first she worked as a cleaner in the House of Models, and eventually became the leading fashion model of the USSR. Life brought Sanya together with various interesting men: with Ivan, a famous avant-garde artist who wanted to go to the West, with Vadim, a young black marketeer from a good family, with Kim, a KGB major.
