State of Grace

Terry grew up in Hell's Kitchen, a small Irish neighborhood on the west side of Manhattan. Returning to New York after a ten-year absence, he meets his childhood best friend Jackie, whose brother Frankie has become an Irish mob boss and whose sister Kathleen, Terry's first love, has grown into a charming woman. Not completely trusting Terry, Frankie nevertheless instructs him, together with Jackie, to extort tribute from local traders. No one yet knows that Terry is an undercover cop. And Terry is painfully torn between his friendship with Jackie, his love for Kathleen and the need to fulfill his duty by putting Frankie behind bars.
